長崎県長崎市を中心に生産される仏壇。江戸時代に出島を通じたオランダ・中国との交流から独自の装飾様式が生まれ、中国の影響を受けた極彩色の彫刻・装飾が特徴的な金仏壇として発展した。長崎は江戸時代を通じて日本唯一の対外開放地であり、その異文化交流が長崎仏壇の独自性を生んだ。鮮やかな朱と金の組み合わせ、龍・鳳凰・唐草紋様の彫刻が他産地とは異なる南蛮文化の薫りを伝える。

Nagasaki Butsudan are Buddhist altars produced mainly in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture. A unique decorative style was born through exchanges with the Netherlands and China via Dejima during the Edo period, developing into a gold altar characterized by highly colorful carving and decoration influenced by Chinese aesthetics. As Japan's only open port throughout the Edo period, Nagasaki's cross-cultural exchange generated the uniqueness of its altars. The vibrant combination of vermilion and gold, with carved dragons, phoenixes, and arabesque patterns, conveys a southern barbarian cultural fragrance distinct from other production areas.
