新潟県三条市・長岡市を中心に生産される金仏壇。越後地方の豊富な木材資源と、新潟県が誇る金属加工技術（燕三条の錺金具）を活かした仏壇として発展した。浄土真宗が盛んな北陸・越後文化圏に広く供給され、堅牢な木地加工と精緻な錺金具が特徴。新潟の職人技術の粋が集まった北陸・信越地方を代表する仏壇産地。
Niigata Butsudan are gold Buddhist altars produced mainly in Sanjo City and Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. Developed leveraging Echigo region's abundant timber resources and Niigata's metal processing technology (Tsubame-Sanjo's decorative metalwork). Widely supplied to the Hokuriku and Echigo cultural sphere where Jodo Shinshu Buddhism is prevalent, characterized by robust wood processing and precise decorative metal fittings. A representative altar production area for the Hokuriku and Shin'etsu region where the essence of Niigata's craftsman skills converge.
