赤津焼

工芸品について

愛知県瀬戸市赤津地区で生産される陶器で、日本六古窯「瀬戸焼」の中核産地の一つ。奈良時代（700年頃）に焼かれた須恵器に始まり、桃山〜江戸初期に志野・織部・黄瀬戸・御深井などの釉薬技法が確立されて尾張徳川家の御用窯として栄えた。これら「古瀬戸」の伝統釉薬技術が現在まで受け継がれている。

Akatsu ware is produced in the Akatsu district of Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, and is one of the core areas of "Seto ware" within Japan's Six Ancient Kilns. With a history dating to the Kamakura period, it is known as a producer that preserves traditional glazes called "Ko-Seto" (ash glaze, yellow Seto, Seto black, Shino, and Oribe). Its diverse glazing techniques represent an important legacy in the history of Japanese ceramics.
