愛知県豊橋市で生産される毛筆。江戸時代、吉田藩の藩主が京都の職人を御用筆匠として招き、下級武士の副業として筆作りを奨励したのが始まりとされる。明治初年には現代の筆と同じ製法（水筆）が確立され、産地が本格化。熊野（広島）と並ぶ国内二大毛筆産地として知られ、職人が手作業で穂を整える伝統的製法を今も守りながら、練習用から書家向け高級筆まで幅広い書道用筆を生産している。
Toyohashi Fude are calligraphy brushes produced in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture. Production is said to have begun around the Bunka era (1804-18) in the Edo period when technicians were invited from Nara, and it is known as one of Japan's two major calligraphy brush production areas alongside Kumano (Hiroshima). The quality of calligraphy brushes, made through careful hair selection and meticulous tassel-making, is highly regarded, and the traditional production method of hand-trimming brush tassels by local craftspeople is still maintained today. The lineup spans from practice brushes for calligraphy classes and schools to premium handmade brushes favored by calligraphers.
