About Tokyo Silverware
Tokyo silverware is silver products produced mainly in Taito Ward, Tokyo. Developing in Edo from the early Edo period as craftspeople serving the Tokugawa shogunate gathered, it produces silver crafts including tea ceremony utensils, accessories, and ornamental objects. Employing diverse metalworking techniques such as forging (tankin), engraving (chokin), and casting, it receives high acclaim both domestically and internationally as the pinnacle of Japanese metalwork.
