About Tokoname Ware
Tokoname ware is pottery produced in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture—the largest of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns dating to the late Heian period. Famous for teapots, especially the 'Shudei' (red clay) teapot comparable to Chinese Yixing ware. The city features a 'Pottery Walking Path' popular with tourists.
