About Mino Ware
Mino ware is a collective term for ceramics produced in the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture. Production began in the late Kamakura period, producing masterpieces of tea ceramics such as Ki-Seto, Seto-guro, Shino, and Oribe. Today it holds approximately 50% of domestic tableware market share—Japan's largest ceramic production area with annual shipments exceeding 180 billion yen.
