About Tamba Tachikui Ware
Tamba Tachikui ware is pottery produced in Imada-cho Tachikui, Tanba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture—one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns dating to the late Heian period. Also known as 'Tamba ware,' it features natural ash glaze and simple, rustic beauty in organic forms. About 60 kilns remain in the Tachikui district, which is visited by many pottery fans as the 'Village of Tamba Ware.'
