About Kasama Ware
Kasama ware is pottery produced in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Dating to the mid-Edo period (1764-1772), it is the largest pottery producing area in the Kanto region. Known as 'Kasama style is individuality,' it features free expression without a fixed style. Over 100 potters work here, and the annual Himatsu Festival attracts over 200,000 visitors.
