About Tokyo Dyed Komon
Tokyo Dyed Komon is a type of stencil-dyed kimono produced in Tokyo. Using stencil techniques with katagami paper, similar to Edo Komon, it dyes a variety of patterns from fine micro-patterns to larger designs. Using Ise katagami stencils, it is dyed by Tokyo craftsmen and used for a wide range of Japanese clothing including kimono, haori, and obi-age. It is one of the traditional crafts of Tokyo's dyeing production area, alongside Edo Komon and Tokyo Yuzen.
