About Agano Ware

Agano ware is pottery produced in Agano district, Fukuchi Town, Tagawa-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture. Said to have been established in 1601 when Hosokawa Tadaoki invited a Korean potter to open a kiln—it developed as the Hosokawa clan's official kiln.
