About Takatori Ware
Takatori ware is a tea ceramics produced in Fukuoka Prefecture. Established in 1606 when Kuroda Nagamasa invited Korean potter Hachiyama (Hachizo), it is known as one of the "Enshu Seven Kilns" of tea ceremony ceramics. Characterized by thin, lightweight vessels with a refined wabi aesthetic, featuring complex glaze effects from layered white, yellow, black, and iron glazes.
