About Aizu Momen
Aizu momen is a cotton textile produced in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. With a history dating to the early Edo period, it spread through the industrial promotion policies of the Aizu domain as a durable plain-woven cotton. With simple designs centered on vertical and plaid stripes, it has been a practical fabric supporting life through Aizu's harsh winters. Characterized by becoming softer with each washing, it is also used today in a wide range of products including bags and everyday items.
