About Banko Ware
Banko ware is produced primarily in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture. Founded around 1736 by Numami Rozan, the name "Banko" means "eternal and unchanging." Today it is nationally known for everyday items such as teapots and clay pots, with Banko teapots accounting for approximately 80% of Japan's teapot production.
