About Koshu Ori
Koshu ori is a silk textile produced mainly in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Tracing its lineage from Kai-ki (Kai silk) dating to the Muromachi period, Fujiyoshida City at the foot of Mt. Fuji is the main production area. It produces high-quality silk products used for obi, Japanese-style accessories, and interior textiles, characterized by fine patterns and lustrous texture. It has a history of being used as haori lining under the name 'Kai-ki.' Products fusing traditional techniques with modern design continue to be produced today.
